Welcome to the galleries of FJLassman Photography.
Ansel Adams once said: "Sometimes I arrive just when God is ready for someone to click the shutter". I agree! The images in these galleries present my vision and (I hope) feelings at the time of capture. Digital offers a lot of options during the post capture process. However, with few and noted exceptions, my pictures are only altered with classic "wet darkroom" processes and a few Photoshop filters that are invisible to viewers. I believe that the quality of the finished picture is established at the time the shutter is tripped.
About the Galleries:
Regional Galleries ... are geographic by definition. The pictures presented are location specific and cannot be duplicated anywhere else in the world.
Gallery "Time Passages" ... These images, while not limited to black and white, sepia, or other post process techniques, represent passage. This Gallery defines movement toward the archival or the historical. Images may not be location specific, and similar images may be captured virtually anywhere. (General location reference information is included in the picture descriptions.)
Gallery "Encore" ... These images do not fit either of the previous definitions and may include pictures of animals, objects, etc. that happen to catch my attention.
Please take time to visit the pictures and enjoy the subtle beauty in each of them. Your comments will be appreciated and an email form is located toward the end of the site for your use. Thanks for visiting!
Thanks
To my wife, Kathy, who travels the back roads of our beautiful state of Kansas and other roads during our trips, and helps spot picture opportunities for me.
To my Grandson, Jacob, who takes pictures with me when he can, and still complains about getting lost (even with a GPS).
To my Granddaughter, Lauren, who I look forward to taking out when she is old enough. At five, she is already selecting her favorite pictures.
To our daughter, Angelic, who supports my passion for photography and manages my consignment sales in Arlington, Texas.
A special thanks to Gale Cochran-Smith for designing this web site, and being very patient with my ignorance of all things "web".
